How to Add Video to Your Google Business Profile®

Updated: Aug 17, 2022

Google Business Profile Offers Free Videomaker

Google Business Profile (formerly Google My Business®) has added a videomaker to its suite of tools to help small businesses in their marketing efforts. It’s an AI program that uses what you’ve posted to your business profile to create a unique marketing video. Any US business may use the tool and Google® plans to expand the video-maker functionality to businesses in the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and India.

Build Your Video

Video Maker is available at goo.gle/videomaker. Following are step-by-step instructions to get you started.

  1. Search your business name.

  2. Answer a few questions. Google will edit your answers together with photos and reviews from your Business Profile and will use these to create your video.

  3. Customize your video. Google enables you to edit your responses, choose the style of your video, choose the music you want, and swap photographs if you like. Remember to reinforce your keywords (just one or two) and maintain the focus on whatever aspect of your business you choose to promote.

  4. Download and share your video. Post it on all your social media accounts and add it to your YouTube® channel.

Make It Your Own

Play around with the Video Maker until you get a video you really like, one you feel represents who you are. You can modify the video to suit your needs. Small- and medium-sized businesses — especially those trying to compete with corporate Goliaths — need all the marketing tools they can findl. This new tool from Google can provide a real boost, particularly if you share your creation far and wide.

Maintaining Your Arsenal

Nothing in your marketing toolkit is set-and-forget. Make updating your marketing efforts a routine part of running your business. This should include every aspect of the Google Business Profile. Regularly verify that your profile is accurate and well-presented. Add new pictures and videos often to keep things interesting. Remember to respond to all your customer reviews as well. Among the information you communicate to prospective customers via your Google Business Profile is that you care about them and you’re responsive to their needs.
